Business Mentor

You're not alone!

Helen Thomson June 01_edited.jpg

Running a business can be a very lonely business if you are the founder/managing director. Who can you bounce ideas off without looking like you don't know what you're doing!?

However, discussion is vital and the diverse tasks required of you can mean that the ones which are urgent can get shelved for the ones which are important. Strategic planning can get put on the back burner as you deliver ever increasing promises to your clients.

You may be in the thick of it, or you may be starting out on your own. Your work load may be astronomical or you may be struggling to convert new clients. Perhaps you've almost forgotten the reason you started the business. Perhaps you are more self determining but do you have a better work life balance? has your boss in the office been replaced by the ultimate boss, the client or customer? And now you have MANY bosses! There's many reasons to consider using someone as a sounding block, for having a business mentor. But for many, it's knowing that there's someone there for you, someone who has the knowledge and experience to understand your business and what you're dealing with, and perhaps above all, someone to whom you can hold yourself accountable.

Constantly forced to keep juggling your priorities, it can be quite difficult to stay on track.

Many businesses are now using the services of an executive coach. It's not as scary as it sounds. But obviously it's all about personality fit. If you looking for someone with a lot of diverse business experience, 'success and awards' you've got it. If you are also curious about the 'bigger picture' outside the world of commerce, a coach who is not 'other worldly' but appreciates the universe in all it's connected glory, we can incorporate that. If you need someone to be on your side, be there when you need them and help keep you on the path you want to tread, please get in touch.

You'll find me friendly, down to earth, direct and non judgemental. Focussed and calm and here for you.

If this sounds like something that interests you, drop me an email. We could then have a no obligation chat to see if we're on the same wavelength.

Working together typically involves weekly contact, with a combination of face to face, online or phone. Whatever suits you best.

The sessions can be coaching on specific tasks or life/work planning sessions. Whatever you need.

Please get in touch if you'd like to have a chat about this to see if you think I might be able to help you.

Please email helen@thomsontraining.com or use this contact form if that's more convenient for you

I have been writing a number of features on work life balance and if you are interested in reading them to get a feel for my approach please click here.

I rather like the biog in the 'Getting the Balance Right' feature in Embody (the magazine for the Complementary Therapists Magazine).

I think it sums me up quite well!

What do you want your life to look like, work and home life?

Do you find yourself saying yes to requests and then stressing about how to get out of them?

Do you take on too much perhaps to prove that you're organised and 'managing' whereas inside you're scrabbling around juggling eggs (and worrying about dropping a few!?)

Do you crave more 'me time' to consider taking up walking, yoga, mindfulness or going to the gym?

Do you fantasise about taking yourself off to the cinema, or having a massage every now and again?

Would you like holidays to become time away from everything rather than ending up getting your laptop out and working from a different location!?

Would you like to spend a bit more time with your family or friends?

It's all possible.

But it's not easy and sometimes a bit of encouragement and someone to keep you on track, understand when you 'fall off the wagon' and get you back on the right path, can be invaluable.

Want to live your best life?  Let's do this!
